ATHERTON DOG POLICY

Atherton High School has outdoor practices for many sports on their practice fields.  These fields are also the location for HYR Spring and Fall Soccer practices and games.  Many neighbors have walked their dogs at Atherton for years.  When not picked up, the dog waste ends up on fields where parents walk and kids play sports.   Dogs off leash often interfere with high school practices, scare younger children, and get tangled up with other dogs making an unsafe environment.   HYR has a policy that no dogs are allowed at HYR practices and games. 

The situation became more pronouced in 2020 and 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
